Me
My full name is Jason Troy Dashney, but most people just call me Dashney. I'm a person, and one of the things I do is take photographs. I take what I do very seriously, but I don't take myself seriously. I'd rather talk about ideas for a photo than about existentialism. My images aren't highbrow, multi-layered visual storied epics, and they don't have captions which read like a thesaurus exploded all over a psych degree. I'm a guy who stands behind a camera and presses buttons, then I sit in front of a computer and press buttons. I just hope that after I do, you see what I did and like it.
I'm influenced more by photographs than photographers, if that makes any sense. I've never been one to follow anything, or anyone specific. Inspiration can be found everywhere. During a windy, rainy, late night storm I may walk past a dark alley with bright lights at one end and be inspired to start a new photo series. Maybe tomorrow my breakfast cereal will have the same effect.
I love coming up with ways to make each shoot unique and exciting but I'm always down for suggestions because after all, it's not my picture. It's yours. Let's work together to come up with something awesome.
